FILMMAKERS BOOT CAMP

Who can attend the Filmmakers Boot Camp?

Anyone between the ages of 14 and 18 and/or anyone who is currently enrolled in an Austin area high, home, charter or private school is eligible to be a filmmaker at the Boot Camp!

Why this Camp?

You get to shoot and edit with professional equipment.

You get to learn from industry pros.

You decide, with your crew, what position each of you takes to write, plan, shoot and edit your own 5-minute film in 5 days.

You get to decide what kind of film you want to produce.

You and your crew get to compete for cash prizes!

When Is It?

June 6 to June 11, 2016.

June 6 to 7 you’re on set at the Austin Public Access Studios • 1143 Northwestern Avenue • Austin • 78702

June 8, 9 & 10 you and your crew go on location at a local restaurant that serves as your production office and set if you wish. (Locations to be announced.)

June 11 is the Film Festival and Live TV Production.

What Do I Get Out of This?

Besides the awesome experience and getting to learn from professional filmmakers, you get a cool T-Shirt, all access to the Film Festival, hands-on filmmaking skills and swag – and – a chance to compete for cash prizes of $500 or $1,000!

Does It Matter What I Wear?

Yes! Please wear practical clothes and shoes for a film set. Tube tops, open-toed shoes, short skirts or really baggy pants can be impractical and unsafe on location.

So please wear close-toed shoes and the same kind of clothes you’d wear to school.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Filmmakers Boot Camp is just $100 for the entire week. This includes snacks and lunches both at the Studios and on location Monday through Friday.

What Else Do I Need To Know?

So glad you asked. You are welcome to come as an individual, though it is recommended you sign up with 4 to 6 of your friends as a crew for the best filmmaking experience.

And included in the cost of the Filmmakers Boot Camp is an all access pass to compete, screen and take part in the Film Festival, June 11th.

When Is The Deadline And How Do I Sign Up Myself and/or My Crew?

To register please go online to signup and pay here.

Registration ends May 31st, 2016.
